With the virus being on a hellish World Tour and people across Europe facing another four to six weeks of isolating at home, feelings of stress and anxiety can come to the surface for many of us.
Amplifying the coronavirus stress is the social unrest around the world, which continues to intensify and adds to the feeling of general gloom.
So if we can’t change our circumstances, what can we do?
Let’s be kinder to ourselves now more than ever.
In times like these, prioritising our own mental health is crucial. The benefits of simple actions such as being physically active through the day, eating and sleeping well and staying connected are not to be underestimated.
Instead of trying to be up to date absolutely everything in the news or online, I started to turn toward podcast that take me far away form the current news.
Here are my 3 podcast pics to counter lockdown blues:
1. Modern Love Podcast – Features the popular New York Times column, with readings by notable personalities and updates from the essayists themselves.
2. Poetry Unbound – Immerse yourself in a single poem, guided by Pádraig Ó Tuama. Short and unhurried; contemplative and energizing.
3. Emergence Magazine Podcast – Exploring the threads connecting ecology, culture, and spirituality, featuring exclusive interviews, narrated essays, stories and more.
