In this series of afternoon lectures, a part of the Dynamic Mindfulness Advanced Yoga Teacher Training open to the public, a medical doctor, dancer and somatic movement educator in training Vera Piechulla will facilitate exciting interactions between imagery and perception of anatomical structures.
Connecting theoretical and intuitive body knowledge, Vera will encourage you to write their own anatomy and to strengthen the thinking body.
Suitable for yoga teachers, bodyworkers, dancers, movement teachers, as well as for curious nerdy movers.

Monday:
14:00 – 15:30: What‘s the matter with cells?
Sensing into the materiality of the cells, understanding the relation of watery cell matrix and fatty membranes, protein biosynthesis.
15:30 – 16:00: tea break
16:00 – 17:30: Moving from within: The cytoskeleton
Exploring the inner structure of the cell.
Tuesday:
14:00 – 15:30: The extracellular matrix: Fibres and ground substance
Diving into the microtexture of your connective tissues.
15:30 – 16:00: tea break
16:00 – 17:30: Connective tissues and fascia
Understanding tissue connectivity, tensegrity and of how loading patterns track systemically through living structures.
Wednesday:
14:00 – 15:30: Muscles and myofascia
Balancing between strength, stability and mobility, questioning common assumptions about stretching.
15:30 – 16:00: tea break
16:00 – 17:30: Articulations: cartilage and capsules, synovia and ligaments
How to distinguish a stretched and flexible muscle from a loose joint?
Thursday:
14:00 – 15:30: Nerves, receptors, proprioception
Becoming aware of your microstructure, understanding the interplay between tissue intelligence and conscious brain.
15:30 – 16:00: tea break
16:00 – 17:30: Interoception and kinesthetic empathy How to lead yoga students through a safe practice.
About Vera Piechulla
Vera studied medicine before getting involved with dance and body-based arts. She completed the Dance Intensive Program at Tanzfabrik Berlin and the PEPCC at Forum Dança in Lisbon. Currently, she is training in somatic movement educator program at the school for Body-Mind-Centering moveus and at a medical practice for manual medicine in Berlin.
Her medical, somatic and artistic practices merge and her artistic work explores spaces of uncertainty between knowledge perception and imagination.
